The Westcountry has a deserved reputation of having some of the finest shooting available in the world. Bird Shooting operates its own shoots over approx 3000 acres.

Sedborough Farm Shoot

It covers 2000 acres of truly wonderful North Devon countryside.This shoot is based in a lovely valley of the river Yeo. Birds are driven over the valley from hilltop gamecovers and woodland. This is an informal shoot with a relaxed atmosphere. A good lunch is included. Days can be booked by individuals or teams.Listed in the William Evans Good Shoot Guide.

Sedborough Farm and adjoining land also provides us with the base for our ever popular small mixed driven days. The day consists of a driven day for pheasants and partridge in the morning followed by the chance to shoot some snipe, woodcock or wild duck in the afternoon. The days are a great social occasion, relaxed and informal, with the guns and beaters mixing. Just because the days are small in bag numbers it doesn't mean the shooting isn't challenging. The topography lends itself well to show good challenging pheasants, with every shot a different angle. Tony Barnards team of crack shots once again proved just how hard the birds can be. It’s always a pleasure to see the face of a gun that has just bagged his first woodcock or snipe, and we also see good numbers of mallard, teal and widgeon coming into our ponds. Lunch is included. These days are not sold with a bag figure but a team of 8 guns will expect to fire 150-250 cartridges on a day. The bag will be whatever they can shoot for this figure and in the 2008-9 this ranged between 36 and 69 birds. The cost of these days is £225inc per gun per day. Snipe and Woodcock

We also have large areas of rough ground, culm grassland, coniferous forestry and rushy meadows. Snipe and woodcock shooting is always popular with guns who relish the chance to have a crack at some totally wild birds. We can provide guns with an entire day of driven snipe and woodcock shooting, or guns can walk up if they prefer. This shooting is for the enthusiasts who appreciate all that is involved in bringing a bird to the bag. The cost of these days is £180inc per gun per day. Days can be booked by teams or individuals.
